Below is an extract from the foreword of the book I am featured in.
"This book is a compilation of my Grandfathers notes and diaries written during his war services in World War 1, and in the years leading to World War 2.
His diaries found their way to me when I was about 17 years old. At that time, I was able to locate a local lady, Mrs. Daisy Laughlin, who was able to translate one of the diaries, as my Grandfather had taught her Pitman shorthand when he was young. Unfortunately, life circumstances then intervened and I was only able to take thing further in 2013 when I found the web page of Tracey Jennings; - "Shorthand Tracey". Tracey had been mentioned on the BBC War Diaries page and after contacting her, she agreed to see what she could do. Thank you Tracey, and your Mum, for doing such a job with the transcription."
